In one of the previous posts, we reported how in October 2011, California Governor Jerry Brown signed into law the Wage Theft Prevention Act of 2011 that  requires all California private-sector employers to provide a written notice of specified basic job terms to all nonexempt employees. The law becomes effective on January 1, 2012.

According to section 2810.5, the Labor Commissioner should  prepare a template that complies with the requirements of the newly-enacted section. In December 2011,  the Labor Commissioner of the California Department of Industrial Relations published its first version of  the Section 2810.5 Notice-to-employees template . However, in May 2012, the  Notice was revised and the Department published a new template.   You can download the latest version of  the notice by either going directly to the Labor Commisioner’s website or by clicking on the link below. The notice is available in English, Spanish, Chinese,  Vietnamese, Tagalog and Korean languages ( word and pdf formats.)
